A few days ago, Yuchai held the inauguration ceremony of the Institute of Friction and Lubrication under the Yuchai Engineering Research Institute in Nanning. The event was attended by high-level executives from the company, including Yu Ping, Chairman of Yuchai Group, and Chen Huiwen, Chairman of Yuchai Lubricant Company, who officially unveiled the new research institute.
Yu Ping, Chairman of Yuchai Group, highlighted that the Yuchai Engineering Research Institute was originally established in July 2007. During a recent board meeting held in Xiamen on November 23, both Chinese and foreign stakeholders reached a strong consensus on the strategic importance of the institute. They agreed to invest 310 million yuan over the next three years to further enhance its research capabilities and expand its operations in Nanning.
The Yuchai Engineering Research Institute has formed an expert committee composed primarily of academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, bringing together 32 top technical experts in the domestic automotive industry. This expert panel plays a crucial role in guiding the research direction and ensuring the institute remains at the forefront of innovation in engine technology and lubrication science.
The newly established Institute of Friction and Lubrication is a key division within the Yuchai Engineering Research Institute, focusing on cutting-edge research in wear mechanisms, friction reduction, and advanced lubrication solutions for internal combustion engines. Its establishment underscores Yuchai’s commitment to long-term technological development and sustainable growth.
In addition, Yuchai has continued to gain recognition for its excellence in the industry. In 2007, the company was awarded the prestigious "China Brand Annual Award NO.1" in the internal combustion engine category, a testament to its leadership and innovation in the field.
