Million tons of scrap steel reclaimed auto parts Laohekou 10 billion recycling industrial park set sail

On December 6th, Gezhouba Group Green Park Technology Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Laohekou Municipal Government: The 1 million-ton scrap recycling and comprehensive utilization project was entered into Laohekou Circular Economy Industrial Park. After completion, it will become the largest renewable resource recycling project in China.

The project has a total investment of 5 billion yuan. Through the comprehensive utilization of scrap, it produces brake hubs, engines, gearboxes and other components for automobiles and construction machinery, as well as trains, elevators, and major equipment and machinery parts. After the project is put into production, it will produce an annual total of about 35 million pieces of various parts and components, with an annual output value of 10 billion yuan. It will use Liyang as the center to radiate regional automobile markets in Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Xi’an, Chengdu, Chongqing and Changsha. The regional, scale, and cost advantages provide support for vehicle manufacturers and parts assembly companies.

On the same day, the construction of the Laohekou Renewable Resources Industrial Park under construction by Gezhouba Huanjia Co., Ltd. commenced. It mainly deals with the recovery, refining, product development and comprehensive utilization of renewable resources such as waste plastics, waste steel and iron, waste paper, and waste non-ferrous metals.

The Laohekou Circular Economy Industrial Park has undergone six years of development. The country has established a regional large-scale renewable resource utilization base. The park has a total of 17 renewable resource utilization enterprises, and has formed four industrial chains, including recycling of used lead-acid batteries, waste steel processing and utilization. This year, the output value reached 5.6 billion yuan.
