According to sales and wholesale data collected by Gasgoo.com, China’s major self-owned branded auto companies/groups (20 automakers and two joint-venture branded auto models) sold 322,200 passenger vehicles in September 2011, a year-on-year increase. 0.8%, far below the average growth rate of the passenger car market (10.0%). Top 10: Dongfeng Group has the fastest growth Chery has the highest drop

In September 2011, of the top ten self-owned brand auto companies/groups with sales in China, sales of six companies increased, and sales of four companies declined.

The six companies with sales growth are BYD, Geely, Great Wall, Dongfeng Group, Brilliance Automotive and Haima. The fastest growing sales volume was Dongfeng Group. Its sales volume increased by 32.8% to 15,700 units, ranking from the eleventh to the eighth in the same period last year. Followed by Haima, its sales increased by 22.9% year-on-year to 13,100 units, ranking tenth.

In addition to Dongfeng Group and Haima, sales of BYD and Great Wall have also increased by double digits, with an increase of 14.9% and 14.6% respectively to 38,000 vehicles and 26,400 vehicles.

Sales volume of Geely and Brilliance Automotive both increased by single digits, with an increase of 5.9% and 5.7% respectively.

Among the top ten companies in sales, the four companies whose sales volume declined are Chery, FAW Group, Chang'an Group and JAC. The three companies with sales growth are Lifan, Southeast Automotive, and Jiangling Motors, all of which have double-digit sales growth. Among them, Lifan has the highest increase rate of 40.0%, and it is also the highest growth rate among the independent brands in this article.

The seven companies with declining sales volume are SAIC, Zhongtai, Guangzhou Automobile Group, Beijing Automotive, Huanghai, Huatai and ZTE respectively. Among them, Huatai and ZTE declined the most, with 84.5% and 53.7%, respectively, and it was also the fastest falling company among the independent brands in this article.
