The undeniable truth is that the cloud has completely reshaped how businesses deliver value to their clients. This transformation has been particularly evident in generative design—a revolutionary technology that combines cloud computing and AI to push the boundaries of design possibilities far beyond human capability. In light of this, we’re collaborating with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to provide even greater computational resources to the initial 1,000 new subscribers eager to explore generative design. The initiative kicks off on July 1st this summer and will be available exclusively to new annual Fusion 360 Ultimate subscribers, continuing until September 30 or until all 1,000 slots have been claimed. Together with AWS, Autodesk has been committed to developing cloud-powered solutions that harness the immense computing capabilities of the cloud. Generative design is the newest addition to our suite of cloud-driven manufacturing tools. With this technology, designers and engineers can rapidly generate a series of high-performance design alternatives based on specific parameters such as material choice, weight, or production methods. The cloud enables the quick exploration of dozens—or even hundreds—of potential solutions within the design space. Engineers can then evaluate these options and select the ones that best align with their objectives. Companies like GM, Airbus, and Lightning Motorcycles have already embraced generative design to create products that outperform their predecessors in terms of performance, weight reduction, or component minimization. Generative design isn't just a game-changer for product development; it's a scalable technology with the potential to revolutionize the manufacturing industry—positively impacting both economics and the environment. “The cloud’s power is essential for making generative design accessible to designers and engineers swiftly and cost-effectively,†noted Josef Waltl, Global Industrial Software Segment Lead at AWS. “With Autodesk and AWS working closely together, customers will be empowered to create and produce groundbreaking products that surpass traditional designs in both economic and ecological aspects.†In April, we launched generative design as part of our Fusion 360 Ultimate offering—an integrated product development platform that allows users to design, engineer, and manufacture products entirely in a cloud-based environment. To conduct generative design studies, users can allocate cloud credits (1 credit equals $1) to run the service smoothly without interruptions. Each Fusion 360 Ultimate subscriber already receives 1,000 cloud credits upon subscription. Thanks to our partnership with AWS, for a limited period, we’ll provide an extra 500 credits (totaling 1,500 credits) to the first 1,000 new Fusion 360 Ultimate subscribers, giving them the resources they need to delve into generative design. Think of it as a "starter kit"—a way to familiarize yourself with this promising new technology. Fusion 360 Ultimate subscribers can utilize cloud credits for generative design studies (25 credits each), option exploration, and downloading the final design (100 credits). Participants in this offer will have ample opportunities to conduct multiple design studies with their 1,500 credits. We aim to reduce barriers for our customers, not create them.
