At the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Annual Meeting in New York City this week, Autodesk made an exciting announcement. They're rolling out their Technology Impact program, which aims to provide much-needed software donations to select nonprofits actively using design to make the world a better place. In the first year alone, Autodesk has pledged to contribute $7.5 million worth of software.
John Cary, Executive Director of the Autodesk Foundation, shared his excitement about the initiative. "The Technology Impact program ensures that nonprofits get access to top-tier design software, empowering them to achieve their missions," he stated. "In the first year, we hope to supply over 500 nonprofit organizations with our professional-grade software. These groups span the gamut of impactful design—from constructing hospitals, homes, and schools globally to developing affordable life-saving medical devices."
For years, Autodesk has been committed to sharing its software with entities fostering positive change, including schools, nonprofits, and environmentally-conscious businesses worldwide. Under this new initiative, qualifying nonprofits will receive two licenses for some of Autodesk's most advanced design software packages, such as the Product Design Suite Premium, Building Design Suite Premium, Infrastructure Design Suite Premium, and Entertainment Creation Suite Ultimate. To apply, interested nonprofits can visit www.autodesk.com/technologyimpact.
One of the first beneficiaries of this program is the Boston-based MASS Design Group, renowned for their groundbreaking Butaro Hospital project in rural Rwanda. Alan Ricks, the organization's Co-founder and COO, highlighted the transformative potential of these tools. "Access to Autodesk's cutting-edge 3D design software allows us to engage local builders, artisans, and communities in meaningful dialogue about our projects. This collaboration ensures that each structure reflects its environment and makes the most of available resources."
Autodesk continues to empower creatives and problem solvers across various fields, from architecture and engineering to digital artistry and beyond. For more information, visit autodesk.com or follow @autodesk on social media.
