This is from Larry Shapiro: On Wednesday evening, April 27, 2016, just after 7 PM, Park Ridge firefighters were dispatched to 1205 Hoffman Avenue in response to a reported house fire. The first units on scene found heavy smoke coming from the attic of a single-family home and immediately began an interior attack. About ten minutes later, the situation escalated, and the alarm was upgraded to a Code 4 as flames broke through the roof. Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control, and any mutual aid companies that had not yet arrived were recalled. No one was injured in the incident. At the scene, Park Ridge Engine 35 and 36, Ambulances 35 and 36, Rescue and Battalion 36, plus Engine 3500 were present. Additional support came from Niles Ambulance, Tower 2, North Maine Engine and Battalion 1, Glenview Engine 7, Lincolnwood Ambulance 15, and Rosemont Truck 158. When I arrived at the scene, the fire was already under control. It was clear that the crews worked swiftly and efficiently to contain the situation before it could spread further. The community remained calm, and no major damage was reported.
