The Department of Vehicle Engineering of University of Science and Technology Beijing has always been committed to the teaching and scientific research of construction vehicles and mining machinery. It has formed its own distinctive features in the design and technology research and development of off-highway vehicles and new electric drive/drive systems, and has undertaken national high-tech research. Development projects (863 program), National Science and Technology Support Program, National Natural Science Foundation and many other national major issues have achieved a series of achievements and have a certain influence in the industry. In recent years, for the domestic key enterprises, the company has successfully developed mechanical transmission mining vehicles with 25 tons to 50 tons of load, 130 tons to 400 tons of electric transmission mining vehicles, and electric transmission graders, electric transmission articulated mining vehicles, electric transmission underground. Mining vehicles, etc., can provide vehicle design and technical support including the transmission system. Beijing University of Science and Technology and Cummins will use this cooperation as an opportunity to jointly promote the development and research of new electric drive technologies in the field of construction vehicles.

"Cummins Drive Laboratory" is affiliated to the Experimental Teaching Center of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Beijing University of Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as the "Experimental Center"). In 2008, the experiment center was awarded the Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Beijing Higher Education Institution. It has an area of ​​9478 square meters for experimental rooms, nearly 130 sets of large-scale equipment, and an original equipment value of more than 90 million yuan. Relying on the national "211 Project", the "National Innovation Platform for Advantages Disciplines", and the Ministry of Education's "Special Funds for the Repairs at Central-level Colleges and Universities," and other projects, the annual investment is nearly 9 million yuan. After the "Eleventh Five-Year" period of construction, the experimental center has become China's first-class laboratory high-level innovative personnel training experimental teaching base.
