It is not easy to pick, the harvest season is short, and the man is in short supply... These problems have been plagued by hop growers, because the birth of a machine is all solved. This hop-controlled automatic picking and cleaning unit with nine patented technologies not only successfully solved the problem of long-term manual picking of hops, but also all the technical performance indicators have reached or exceeded the advanced level of imported equipment.
As a valuable economic crop, hops are not only the "beer of beer", but also used in food, cosmetics, proprietary Chinese medicine and other fields. The planting area of hops in Gansu Province is more than 60,000 mu, accounting for 57% of the total planted area of the country, mainly concentrated in the Hexi Corridor. In the past, this kind of crop could only be harvested by hand, and for this kind of mu yield of 1200 kg of vine-like plants, one person can only pick about 50 kg a day, which is extremely labor-intensive.
It is precisely because of this that every year the best picking time for hops, there will be an extremely shortage of picking labor, a little delay, frost and so many, many mature hops are not ready to be frozen in the ground.
In 2002, Gansu Provincial Academy of Mechanical Science set out to develop hop harvesting equipment. Researchers have taken a lot of thoughts on how to remove the flowers without any damage. Through repeated research and trials, the first domestic hop automatic picking and cleaning machine was successfully tested in Yumen City, Gansu Province in August 2004. The machine has a good picking effect on Qingdao flower with large flower pattern and wide planting area.
The machine also achieved the goal of harvesting different varieties of hops at different speeds on one piece of equipment for the first time because of the successful use of nine patented technologies. In the past, an acre of hops required a good labor to be busy in the field for 24 days, and the use of this machine can be easily completed in 4 hours.
On December 23, 2004, the equipment passed the appraisal of scientific and technological achievements, and the experts agreed that the technical indicators of the project reached the international leading level.
Although the technical performance indicators of the hop automatic picking and cleaning machine all meet or exceed the advanced level of imported equipment. Its sales price is far lower than imported equipment, and this unit has wide adaptability, small damage and low impurity content. Once it was launched, it was favored by hop growers. In the harvest season of 2005, the hop producers who had tasted the sweetness lined up long queues waiting for this tireless “strong labor” to patronize their fields.
