How to Take Your Temperature

1. Press the ON/OFF button to activate. The unit will beep and display. This LCD test lasts about 2 seconds.

If you press the ON/OFF button for more than 2 seconds, the last measured temperature will appear with an 'M' mark in the corner.

2. Next, 98.2°F (or 37.0°C) will be displayed.

3. When 'L' and flashing '°F'/'°C' appears, the thermometer is ready for use. However, if the room temperature exceeds 89.6°F (32.0°C), it will show the room temperature instead of 'L'.

4. A beep will sound when the temperature reading is complete.

5. Press the ON/OFF button to turn off the device.

The device will automatically shut off after approximately ten minutes of use.

1. Taking an Oral Temperature

Place the probe tip under the tongue as close as possible to the heat pocket. Approximate measuring time: 1 minute.

2. Taking an Axillary Temperature (Under the Arm)

Wipe the underarm with a dry towel and position the probe tip under the arm so that it touches the skin. Hold the thermometer perpendicular to the body. Place the arm across the chest so the probe is well covered by the arm. Approximate measuring time: 2-3 minutes.

Note: Axillary temperatures are generally 1.0°F / 0.5°C lower than oral readings.

3. Taking a Rectal Temperature

Apply a water-soluble lubricant to the probe cover. Gently insert the probe (maximum 1/2 inch) into the rectum.

Approximate measuring time: 1 minute.

Note: Rectal temperatures are typically 1.0°F / 0.5°C higher than oral readings.

General Care

Use the thermometer only under adult supervision.
Avoid moving, running, or talking during temperature measurement.
Store the unit in its protective case when not in use.
Do not store the unit in direct sunlight, dust, or humidity. Avoid extreme temperatures.
Avoid dropping or subjecting the thermometer to strong shocks.
Do not disassemble the device unless replacing the battery.


Cleaning Instructions

Clean the thermometer with a soft cloth and isopropyl alcohol diluted with water before and after each use, or wash with cold soapy water. Do not soak for long periods or sterilize using boiling, gas, or steam autoclaves.
