At Solar Together, we run a unique group-buying program for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and battery storage. This initiative is designed to make renewable energy more accessible and affordable for homeowners across the UK.
By joining our scheme, you can take advantage of competitive pricing that would typically be difficult to achieve on your own. The power of collective buying helps us secure better deals from trusted installers, ensuring you get the best value for your investment in clean energy.
The core idea behind Solar Together is simple: when people come together, they have more influence. This combined bargaining power allows us to negotiate better prices with suppliers, which means you benefit from lower costs without compromising on quality.
Throughout the process, we bring together residents from different parts of the UK, working closely with local authorities to support their sustainability goals. This collaboration not only strengthens our program but also helps communities reduce their carbon footprint.
If you're interested in learning more about how group-buying works, check out our blog post titled “Group-buying for solar: What is it and how does it work?†It explains everything you need to know.
Solar Together is managed by iChoosr, a group-buying expert that has been helping communities across Europe since 2008. In the UK, iChoosr has partnered with councils and community leaders to organize renewable energy projects, including this one. They’ve worked with over 160 local authorities to help households save money on energy bills through collective switching schemes.
iChoosr operates in five countries worldwide and has helped over 1.7 million homes save more than £150 million through their initiatives.
Our auction process is a reverse auction, meaning the installer with the lowest price wins. This ensures that all participants receive the best possible deal. Before the auction, all installers are thoroughly vetted to ensure they meet high standards of quality, reliability, and customer service.
Each installer must meet strict requirements, including experience, financial stability, and proven expertise in solar installations. They can choose the brands they use, but they must specify them upfront and follow iChoosr’s guidelines to guarantee product quality.
Customers will know exactly what brands and products are included in the offer before making a decision. Detailed product specifications are available for download, giving you full transparency.
The package includes everything you need for a complete solar installation—solar panels, installation, cabling, inverter, monitoring systems, and insurance-backed guarantees. You’ll also receive a roof survey and a breakdown of any additional costs based on your specific situation.
After the auction, you'll receive a personal recommendation with details about the winning installer and the full package. This recommendation is non-binding, so you can review it and decide whether it suits your needs.
You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions or attend an online session if you need further clarification. Our team is always here to help, and we encourage you to reach out anytime.
Your privacy is important—installers won’t know who you are until you accept the recommendation. If you’re not satisfied with the offer, you can simply decline without any obligation.
